What is so special about our Shampoo & Conditioner

Searching for a product online can be not only time consuming but tedious to say the least. Finding out a hairdresser has helped developed a shampoo and conditioner certainly can put you a little more at ease in terms of its benefits and function. However what is so special about our shampoo & conditioner other than its 300ml not 250ml?

Off Days Products do not have SLS or Sodium Laureth Sulfate for starters, now before we start putting this ingredient in the “nasty” basket lets drop it for now and just say that by not including it we are maintaining a safe experience for anyone with coloured hair or who may have a sensitive scalp. There are times when using a SLS shampoo may be beneficial for some however we will come back to that at a latter date.

To get the hair and scalp clean and the bubbles we have an ingredient called sodium lauroyl sarcosinate. Derived from sarcosine, an amino acid that occurs naturally in the body, sodium lauroyl sarcosinate is frequently heralded for being a thorough cleanser but also for being gentle. It works by attracting excess oil and dirt, then carefully removing the grime from the hair by emulsifying it so it rinses easily away with water. In addition to cleaning the hair, regular use of a shampoo with sodium lauroyl sarcosinate has also been shown to improve the appearance of the hair (especially locks that are damaged) by boosting shine and body.

Listed in the Handbook of Green Chemicals sodium lauroyl sarcosinate and gets the thumbs up from most clean and green beauty advocates. It works incredibly well to gently cleanse the hair and scalp without stripping color or drying out the scalp. The sodium lauroyl sarcosinate we used is derived from coconut and is safe for everyone.

Now lets look at the other ingredients and why our products are more hydrating, cucumber extract is packed with moisture and helps creates the texture as well as super hydrating. Aloe Vera is used to calm the hair strand build moisture content as well as sooth the cuticle from environmental damage and heat. Shea butter is a beautiful ingredient that soothes the hair strand and locks in the moisture, adding shine, smoothness and manageability.

When you add moisture its important not to weigh the hair down and make it heavy which our product will not, its impact on the hair is internal and weightless so you can still enjoy as much fullness or flexibility as you need. Our shampoo is concentrated so you will need to thoroughly wet your hair prior to using to assist in distribution of the product. Repeat only if you feel the need but always follow with a conditioner.
