A lot of people who work out daily regardless of the hair type would need to wash daily to remove the sweat and perspiration, leaving it on the scalp will become itchy and can cause bacterial infections. Yet for someone with thick hair that doesn’t work out every 2nd or 3rd day is fine. For someone with fine hair and it tends to get oily fast then daily is fine also.
One of the key things to remember is that whilst sebum is excreted from the scalp and it is there for a purpose, too much is not healthy either. It is both a personal choice as well as a very different decision for everyone, what worked last week may not be needed this week. Climate, lifestyle and hair habits play a big part in how often you need to wash your hair.
One of the more important things to keep in mind is the shampoo you are using, sulfate is the detergent that has been the surfactant for many shampoo’s for many years and is a good cleanser but it also can be very harsh if used too much so its best not only for your scalp but also your color to use a sulfate free shampoo. These are more gentle and ensure your color lasts longer as well as not to dehydrate your scalp.

Always follow with conditioner to ensure the cuticle is closed and your hair maintains is internal health!
